The 300,000sq.ft ‘snow playground’ will include five ski slopes, including one of the largest of its kind in the world-400 meters long with a nearly 70-metre fall. Served by state-of- the art ski lift, the slope will offer down hill runs graded for skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts.

The center will turn the city in to a winter sports resort with downhill skiing and snowboarding, and an alpine village where children can build snowmen, go tobogganing and even enjoy a snowball fight!

Construction of the building includes a reinforced concrete frame for the lower two thirds of the slope, from ground level to 40m. The final section of the building is constructed from a structural steel frame between the concrete frame at 40m to twin concrete pylons with a top level of 60m.

This final section will be fully assembled at ground level and strand- jacked in to its final position. The total lift will be approximately 4000 tones. Below the strand jacked section a 3-level car park is to be constructed when the envelope is in place.

Internal walls are made of 200mm insulation, and internal finishes include Alpine-themed ski lifts, ski shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.
