EVERSENDAI awarded structural steel sub-contract for Rose Tower project
in Dubai - 22/02/2005 - The Star
EVERSENDAI group of companies has been awarded structural steel
sub-contract work worth RM53.3mil for the prestigious Rose Tower hotel
project in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Group managing director Datuk A.K. Nathan said the job, which was
awarded early this month, involved the connection design, supply of
materials, detail shop drawing, fabrication and erection of structural
steel works.
“The Eversendai group has on-going projects worth RM292mil and we expect
to secure additional jobs worth RM200mil by the end of the year,” he
told StarBiz.
Eversendai has secured several major structural steel jobs in the Middle
East for the last nine years and executed many prestigious landmark
projects in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
The Kuala Lumpur-based group is a specialist structural steel contractor
that undertakes structural steel design, detail shop drawing,
fabrication and erection works.
Nathan said the group was proud to fly the Malaysian flag in the Middle
East.
“The 72-storey high Rose Tower will be another landmark in Eversendai's
skyscraper construction history,” he added.
The 480-suite Rose Tower, which is 333 metres high, will add to Dubai's
dazzling skyline of skyscrapers.
The building will be the tallest hotel in the world, according to the
Guinness Books of Records. It will also have fully furnished studio
flats.
Eversendai is a 30% associate company of Bursa Malaysia main
board-listed IJM Corp Bhd.
