KUALA LUMPUR, Tuesday, 15 January, 2013 – Eversendai Corporation Berhad (“Eversendai”), a leading and well-established integrated structural steel turnkey and power plant contractor, has recently secured a contract worth AED 390 million (RM325 million), through its subsidiary company to carry out structural steel works for the Abu Dhabi International Airport (“ADIA”) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Dato’ AK Nathan, Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director of Eversendai, said: “We are delighted to have secured the contract for the structural steel works for the Piers, Jet Bridges and Gate houses for the ADIA project. This is one of the most anticipated projects in the region and re-affirms Eversendai’s continued success in winning iconic prestigious projects in the Middle East region.
The ADIA project is integral to the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 plan which entails transforming the desert into the ‘Garden of the Gulf’ through a design that responds to its natural environment, while meeting the needs of the rapidly expanding capital.
“We are currently the structural steel contractors for the New Doha International Airport in Qatar, the Salalah International Airport in Oman and the KLIA 2 in Malaysia. By securing the ADIA project, we have once more registered our brand in the global airport construction sector” added Dato’ AK Nathan.
