Eversendai Corporation Bhd has played a significant role in the global construction industry, demonstrating Malaysia’s technical expertise worldwide, said Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
With over 500 successful projects, Eversendai has been instrumental in constructing some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Petronas Twin Towers, and Merdeka 118. These achievements solidify Eversendai’s status as a source of national pride.
During an official visit to Eversendai’s largest steel fabrication plant in Sharjah, UAE, Nanta commended the company for setting a world record with the longest cantilever building, part of the One Za’abeel project.
One Za’abeel: A Record-Breaking Engineering Marvel
The cantilever, known as The Linx, spans an impressive 228 meters, connecting two towers 100 meters above the ground. Nanta highlighted Eversendai’s use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology in the early design and fabrication stages, which played a crucial role in successfully executing such a complex engineering feat.
“During this visit, I was briefed on the factory’s operations, steel fabrication, and structural design processes. I was informed that BIM technology is integral to the project execution, especially in the preparation and design of steel structures,” he shared in a Facebook post.
Eversendai’s Global Reach and Ambition
Eversendai’s steel fabrication plant produces 200,000 metric tonnes of steel annually and employs around 12,000 workers across its seven fabrication plants in Malaysia, UAE, Qatar, and India.
Eversendai’s Executive Chairman, Tan Sri A.K. Nathan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to flying the Jalur Gemilang high through its international projects, particularly with landmark structures such as the Burj Khalifa and One Za’abeel.
