Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) manages the import, transportation, and storage of Gabbro and related materials. QPMC planned to expand its Gabbro storage yard and implement an elevated conveyor system for material transfer from the port. Accordingly, they entered an EPC contract with M/s. FLSmidth and M/s. Six Construct for the Gabbro Terminal Expansion Project, aiming to reduce truck traffic and optimize material import and storage in Qatar.
The success of the Gabbro terminal expansion will necessitate new storage use regulations and tariff structures that the importers will need to follow to ensure its smooth operations.
The project includes an integrated set of conveyors, dust suppression systems, sub-stations and stackers to streamline the imports of aggregate and its storage in Qatar.

Supply and Installation of Structural Steel and Installation of Mechanical Systems and Miscellaneous Steel for Conveyors, Transfer Towers, Stackers and Hopper Buildings. The structural steel works are about 10,550MT and the Installation of Mechanical works are about 14,000MT.
